BIOGRAPHY

A Jack of all trades, Scott McLean Hook is a licensed architect, glass artist, children's author, furniture maker, Navy officer, and, above all, devoted father.

Scott's creative and professional pursuits intersect in his stained glass artwork sold through Hook Handmade.    Joining meticulously designed line work, balanced compositions, emotive color combinations, and impeccable craftsmanship, his heirloom glass work harnesses the intangible and ever changing beauty of light.

As a designer and builder of custom fine furniture, he creates furniture of exceptional beauty and durability by marrying contemporary design with time tested woodworking techniques.  He personally designs and builds each piece by building upon his background in design and decades of furniture making experience.

Encouraging future generations to explore architecture, design, and the construction process, Scott’s book, The Lonely House, builds upon his background and education in Art History and Architecture.

Master of Architecture - NewSchool of Architecture + Design (2014)

Bachelor of Arts in Art History - Washington and Lee University (2000)
